How Does astroloop Work?

AstroLend flashloans enable you to momentarily borrow more than your deposited collateral would typically allow. Instead of running health checks throughout every step of borrowing and lending, AstroLend only checks your position’s health at the end of the transaction. This means Astroloop can temporarily place you in a “bad health” state during the flashloan process, as long as your position is back in good health once the transaction completes.

Example: Opening a Long Position on SOL Using USDC

1- Borrow with Flashloan: Astroloop borrows the amount of USDC you need through an AstroLend flashloan.

2- Swap for Target Asset:

The borrowed USDC is swapped for SOL (or any other token you want to go long on).

3- Deposit the Principal & New Assets:

The SOL from the swap and your original deposited collateral are added to your AstroLend account. The flashloan is then considered fully repaid. 4- Health Check:

A final health check is performed to ensure your position is above AstroLend’s minimum collateral requirements.

Because flashloans bypass interim checks, you can rapidly establish leveraged position, so long as you remain in good health when the transaction concludes.

Leveraging Your Deposits

When you deposit an initial amount (like 10 SOL) and decide which tokens you want to borrow against, along with their relative weights, Astroloop calculates your Loan-to-Value (LTV) ratio. LTV is the ratio of your loan amount to the value of your deposited assets. Through Astroloop’s flashloan-based approach:
